So, this year is almost over. I don't really have much to say about it, but I thought I should post a meaningless entry so I could start the new year off right. As for the past year, it was very mixed, both eventful and uneventful, exciting and boring, often at the same time. But oh well,
Happy New Year!!!

"During the filming, Herzog gave some strange direction to elicit particular performances from the actors. In directing one dwarf who continually struggles not to laugh, Herzog repeatedly told the actor that he must not laugh, but then made funny faces at him as soon as he started filming."
That's pretty funny.

and I will never grow so old again...
So, earlier today I was getting grief for watching Spongebob and it just made me think of all types of things. First of all, what is wrong with Spongebob? It's not really even a kid's show. If it were then marijuana would be legal, because ninety percent of it's viewers would be sparking up, and it would be easier to legalize it then unintentionally force minors into psychedelics. Second, what am I supposed to be watching? NCIS? Accidentally on Purpose? Yes, I get it, she's pregnant from a one-night stand, and he seems like a good guy, and his friends are silly and non-threatening, just like me amirite????? Maybe I should watch 24, even though I haven't found it amusing in seven hundred seasons or so... Does Jack Bauer do coke? He seems like an eighties guy so probably. But at least 24 is more "grown-up"!?!?!?!??! And how can someone who doesn't watch Nick just assume it's child's play. I mean, watch an episode of iCarly and you're likely to find nearly as many double entendres as Sex and the City with underage girls!!! Dirty-talking jailbait seems pretty grown up to me...
Thirdly, I don't merely watch Spongebob, I live it (yes, it is meant to sound as pretentious as it does). I mean most Nick cartoons are filled with subtext that is clearly not meant for younger viewers, watch a episode of Rugrats after a couple years and you'll see what I mean. Lastly, there is just something inexplicably prophetic about reciting four words and having a car full of people completely understand you...

All The Love Of The Universe
So, Man of the Century is one of the funniest movies ever!!! One of these days I'll try to learn the dialogue, then they'll be no stopping me. While I'm on the subject of movies, I just watched Natural Born Killers. I believe that I can safely say that it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a fairly straightforward Tarantino"esque" film and received a blizzard of psyched-out cacophony. It had all of the style of a Breathless with only some of the cool, violence was used as a fair substitute.
As for me, I have my last final tomorrow and I have to move my car tonight, grrrrr...

Oh yeah, I guess I'm doing reviews now or something...

Musik of the Trees
So, this afternoon I had a "concert" and it went surprisingly well. I only played drums on one song, but my solo had to be the best one I've played all semester. Great timing, right? Of course the more advanced combos had to go after us and make us look juvenile with their young-adult abilities, but it was still pretty cool. Now only two more days of school.
Last weekend I saw A Zed & Two Noughts and it was fairly entertaining, but a bit uneven. There were moments when it seemed like the best movie ever, only to be brought back to Earth near the end, but it is still definitely worth seeing.
I also got Captain Beyond recently and would have to shine a predominately positive light on it. The one thing about it is the tracks work much better in the context of the album than they do by themselves, much like The Snow Goose. However, unlike The Snow Goose, only one or two of the tracks are strong enough the really stand on their own, opposed to Camel's four or five.
Oh well, time for SVU!.!
