took a long time to come...

So, this year is almost over. I don't really have much to say about it, but I thought I should post a meaningless entry so I could start the new year off right. As for the past year, it was very mixed, both eventful and uneventful, exciting and boring, often at the same time. But oh well,

Happy New Year!!!

"During the filming, Herzog gave some strange direction to elicit particular performances from the actors. In directing one dwarf who continually struggles not to laugh, Herzog repeatedly told the actor that he must not laugh, but then made funny faces at him as soon as he started filming."

That's pretty funny.

Merry Christmas!!!

So, that's about it, I hope everyone else had a Christmas that was at least as good as mine was (Mythbusters marathon, lol)...

and I will never grow so old again...

So, earlier today I was getting grief for watching Spongebob and it just made me think of all types of things. First of all, what is wrong with Spongebob? It's not really even a kid's show. If it were then marijuana would be legal, because ninety percent of it's viewers would be sparking up, and it would be easier to legalize it then unintentionally force minors into psychedelics. Second, what am I supposed to be watching? NCIS? Accidentally on Purpose? Yes, I get it, she's pregnant from a one-night stand, and he seems like a good guy, and his friends are silly and non-threatening, just like me amirite????? Maybe I should watch 24, even though I haven't found it amusing in seven hundred seasons or so... Does Jack Bauer do coke? He seems like an eighties guy so probably. But at least 24 is more "grown-up"!?!?!?!??! And how can someone who doesn't watch Nick just assume it's child's play. I mean, watch an episode of iCarly and you're likely to find nearly as many double entendres as Sex and the City with underage girls!!! Dirty-talking jailbait seems pretty grown up to me...
Thirdly, I don't merely watch Spongebob, I live it (yes, it is meant to sound as pretentious as it does). I mean most Nick cartoons are filled with subtext that is clearly not meant for younger viewers, watch a episode of Rugrats after a couple years and you'll see what I mean. Lastly, there is just something inexplicably prophetic about reciting four words and having a car full of people completely understand you...

All The Love Of The Universe

So, Man of the Century is one of the funniest movies ever!!! One of these days I'll try to learn the dialogue, then they'll be no stopping me. While I'm on the subject of movies, I just watched Natural Born Killers. I believe that I can safely say that it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a fairly straightforward Tarantino"esque" film and received a blizzard of psyched-out cacophony. It had all of the style of a Breathless with only some of the cool, violence was used as a fair substitute.
As for me, I have my last final tomorrow and I have to move my car tonight, grrrrr...

Oh yeah, I guess I'm doing reviews now or something...

Musik of the Trees

So, this afternoon I had a "concert" and it went surprisingly well. I only played drums on one song, but my solo had to be the best one I've played all semester. Great timing, right? Of course the more advanced combos had to go after us and make us look juvenile with their young-adult abilities, but it was still pretty cool. Now only two more days of school.
Last weekend I saw A Zed & Two Noughts and it was fairly entertaining, but a bit uneven. There were moments when it seemed like the best movie ever, only to be brought back to Earth near the end, but it is still definitely worth seeing.
I also got Captain Beyond recently and would have to shine a predominately positive light on it. The one thing about it is the tracks work much better in the context of the album than they do by themselves, much like The Snow Goose. However, unlike The Snow Goose, only one or two of the tracks are strong enough the really stand on their own, opposed to Camel's four or five.
Oh well, time for SVU!.!

Oh yeah, I guess I'm doing reviews now or something...

Beer as in Braindeer

So, last Friday I finally saw Reservoir Dogs, in a theatre!!! I guess A Zed and Two Noughts is next, wish me luck. So tomorrow I have to give a speech on the Eagle Nebula, should be great fun. But at least after that my semester is almost over. I'm not sure what I'm going to do over winter break, but I'll probably try to go somewhere, even if it's just overnight. Also, I will probably try to meet a girl named Caroline...

Tomorrow's Thanksgiving, and I don't know why...

So, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, yay? I guess that means I'll probably make pizza or something, which isn't so bad, I mean, I have done less in a day.

What did Snow White say after she took some pictures?

Someday my prints will come...

So, this "weekend" has turned out pretty well. It all started on Wednesday, as these things often do, with a failed drum performance. However, my luck quickly changed when all my other classes were cancelled, leaving me ample time to prepare for the new SVU episode. Thursday saw me spinning CDs and watching largely unsuccessful King of the Hill videos on youtube with Corey. The highlight, however, came on Friday, when I went to New Beverly Cinema to see White and Red. The theatre was really cool, and was much bigger than I thought it would be, and only 7$ for a double-feature!!! I definitely see myself returning in the future. On Saturday night I had to, prematurely, say goodbye to what now feels like an old friend. Maybe we'll meet again someday Sit Down, Shut Up. Sunday was filled with Target and nostalgia, just like it should be. I guess this week will present Thanksgiving and possibly a trip to Amoeba, but as for now, New Age of Earth is pretty far out...

This Time

So, these are some amusing youtube comments I found the other day. I've censored the names, because I don't want all of my dedicated followers to harass these innocent, if slightly naive, youtube viewers.

I'll probably add more when I find them, cause I find them far out...

For making everything beautifuller

So, today I got back my critical essay on the work of Alejandro Jodorowsky and I got a B, which is pretty good considering I didn't start until a couple hours before it was due. I probably would have got an even better grade if I didn't make formatting errors, it probably didn't help that I didn't proofread it either, lol!?!?!?!?!? Then I watched Shawn of the Dead in class and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't bad at all, although I don't plan on praising it as highly as my teacher any time soon. I also kind of want to do something tomorrow night. It's not that I'm dead-set on seeing the meteor shower, it is more about wanting an excuse to skip class on Wednesday, but we'll see. And this live version of " Lover, You Should've Come Over" is outta sight...

Three yards...

So, this week didn't start out very well. I think I totally messed up on my Jodorowsky essay, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Then James Taylor made it all better, like he always does, and the end was pretty cool. I even went to a lecture at JPL!!!!!!!
I also found out that White and Red are playing in LA next weekend. I'm not sure when I'll go, but I'm pretty excited about going to see them, yay!!! I also found out that trading fours and Tuvan throat singing are outta sight...

Shaving is Boring

So last night I watched Naked Lunch and it totally freaked me out. I think I am going to take a little break from these heavy movies and try a lighter approach next week. Is Two-Lane Blacktop light? I guess I'll find out. So at school today some girl was handing out "starbursts." I'm not sure what they were laced with, but next thing I know someone is talking about electric fields and playing with magnets...

So I guess I'll spend this weekend making friendship anklets because mine broke off, and maybe hiking or something.

Licks for the Ladies

So, last week I found out that Klaus Schulze recorded the soundtrack for a pornographic film and I thought that was pretty funny. So next time you're on acid and think, "I could sure go for some '70s porn right now!" you should probably check it out. Then listen to Solstice after, and Sans Soleil might make sense...

PS- this might make sense too.

But beautiful

So, this week was kind of weird. I mean, there wasn't really any one thing that was of great significance, but there were a lot of little things that made this week quite eerie. I also watched quite a few movies this week, and it was odd because I am usually quite aware of how many movies I watch. But when I thought about it I realized I had watched like four movies in five days, booyah! However, I don't really feel like going over them, I'll be doing enough of that next week. I also got my Magma albums and can honestly say that they are prime examples of Moulton Rock!!!
Last night I watched a lot of Degrassi with Corey, and also the best episode of KOTH ever?!?!! But then I asked someone, "What's yo damage?" and blacked-out for the rest of the night.
Today I went to two different malls, for "various reasons." The first mall was very upsetting because they didn't have much except for the most awesome shirt ever in Forever 21. However, it was really a girl's shirt, it wasn't even close to being uni, so there was no way I could pull it off. I've been looking online to see if i can find a guy's version but have not had any luck so far...
The second mall was full of hookers, singer/songwriters, and Lost fans all in line at See's Candy, so I can't really complain.
Oh yea it is also Halloween and the malls were full of little kids getting treats...

Do you want to like blaze?

So I think these animals are trying to kill me. Yesterday two peacocks ran out in front of my car and forced me to slam on my brakes and blurt out a profanity in front of my grandma. Today a squirrel ran out into the middle of the street and just stopped, so I had to quickly swerve around it. But at least nothing was hurt, so it's all good.
Last night I had another "Landslide" attack, and it has been freaking me out all day, but at least I proved this one was real too. Then this afternoon I went to buy some new shampoo, yay!
Then later tonight I went to Corey's and we watched a variety of shows, and I realized that Sit Down, Shut Up is probably the best show ever, because I have yet to find a flaw in its decadent mastery of bad comedy. We also watched Degrassi for a while, and I also realized that there is not nearly enough punching on Teen Nick...

for him alone life's worse than worst
is better than a mere world's best
whose any twilight is his last
and every sunrise is his first
- e.e. cummings

So today in between classes I decided to kill some time in the library. While looking around the shelves I came across a book of e.e. cummings' poetry. The poem above was one of the ones that I really liked, albeit short, and one of the few I could actually find online. It is really simple, but I think I prefer his more "traditional" poems. I hesitate to say traditional because even his more straight-forward work seems to possess adventurous structures and rhyming patterns, but I guess that's the other half of the fun.

So this week I might welcome Sloche, Magma, and Peter Blegvad into my life. (gasp) What will the neighbors think? Oh well, if it gets too bad I can always even it out with some Tony Williams...

Oh yea, don't think I forgot my promise.
Here it is,
Hardcore Nudity!!!

I need a catchphrase...

So, driving home tonight through the fog was pretty cool, it was just like in my dreams, only "Perpetual Change" was playing . Last week wasn't bad either, except for my physics class that was cancelled all week and my teacher gave really late notice so I ended up going to school twice for nothing. So tonight Corey and I watched some show/short movie called Suburban Legends or something, and it was one of the funniest/stupidest things ever. I also hate the Internet, because it is taking all my money with its limitless shopping possibilities and strawberries so big you can eat them like a hand fruit. Yea, so I have to write a critical essay for my film class. I think I'll write it about some aspect of Stanley Kubrick, I saw Barry Lyndon last night and it was quite spectacular, so it reminded me that he is my favorite director, sorry Andrei. Yea I know that this post is a little erratic, but that just means my next post will have to be a little erotic...

"Do you sing when you play the guitar?"

I'm not sure what you're supposed to say when your Grandma asks you that, but I'm pretty sure I didn't give the right answer. I pretty much was frozen trying to comprehend what was being asked of me, but eventually my sister responded for me. I don't remember what she said, but the mutual conclusion was "Yes, but not very well..." I guess Nick Drake just brings out the best in everyone.
So today has been a pretty lucky day so far. First off, the mailperson brought me two gifts today, the Breathless CD I ordered, and my next DVD. Well that might not seem like a big deal, but I wasn't expecting my CD until next weekend, because it was shipped from England and was supposed to take 8-10 days, and it took 5. It was also my first online purchase in a foreign currency, Bravo! (snaps fingers)
The DVD was also a surprise because it was suppose to come two days ago, and I was worried that I would finally have to report a problem with Netflix, I'm not sure how difficult it is, but I'd rather not find out.
After I went to get an oil change, I don't have a good history with these, but it went pretty smoothly and my car was only diagnosed with a small oil leak, no big deal. Also, while my car was under the knife, my sister and I went to Kmart to kill time, and they were having a special demonstration and we both got little Magicloths (another brand of Shamwows) and the demo was like a Shamwow commercial...lol
So I guess that means that my O Lucky Man! review was pretty good!!!

blue eyes...

So, yea. I haven't posed anything in a while. I have wanted to, but have just been too busy/lazy. I wanted to post something about my Summer, but I have since lost my motivation, I did write some stuff down, but I don't feel like putting it up anymore. Let's just say that my Summer was full of "M's".
So I started school about a month ago, and it's been okay, except for "Contemplation". Haven't really done much else, except for work a couple times. I also haven't recorded anything in a while, but I think I'll change that pretty soon. But I don't know what to play, someone needs to make a request or write me some lyrics I can use, or something. I'll probably post something else later this week, but I don't feel like writing anymore right now.

Just like the morning sun...

So, yea Summer is almost over and there are still quite a few things I would like to do. I guess I would like to go on a trip or something, because this is the longest time I've been trapped down here for a while. It feels weird, because I am so used to getting out of here. I've become bored to the point that I often take overly complicated routes in order to avoid taking the same streets over and over and over again, but it doesn't really help. I actually got fairly excited taking the 110 into Pasadena last week, because it was a fairly untouched freeway that somewhat reminded me of the 101, my beloved, and I guess it reminded me of where I should have been, whatever that means. So, I guess I might go for a little drive before the Summer is over, but I'm not entirely sure where....

real... and surreal

"I'm glad I don't like spinach, because if I did then I would eat it, and I can't stand the stuff."
- Jean-Paul Belmondo

That pretty much sums it up...

I could have been...

So, music is, like my Harrison Ford impression, a funny thing. I was just listening to "One Of These Things First" by Nick Drake, and it was quite startling how quickly I reverted back to the first time I heard the song probably three and a half years ago. Now I couldn't tell you the day of the week or what I was wearing, but I can remember what my surroundings were and how it made me feel. I can picture it so clearly that, for a moment, I feel like I am junior in high school again. Of course, this is not the only song that evokes such a clear image, "Highways Of The Sun" by Camel paints an intricate image of driving up the 101 and a longing for adventure and searching for self acceptance. It is quite amazing how powerful a simple song can prove to be to an individual.
I have found that this can be both positive and negative. One one hand, it can evoke pleasant memories that can deliver a much needed smile to your face. On the other, it can be nearly impossible to escape the past that is relentlessly thrust upon you by a simple guitar figure. This is obviously a major reason that all people enjoy music differently, because no matter what your favorite band is, a song you haven't heard in years, that you may not even like, can be far more important or influential.

The Snow Goose...

"In the contest between sentiment and slime, sentiment remains so far out in front, as it always has and always will among ordinary humans, that the calamity-howlers and porn merchants have to increase the decibels of their lamentations, the hideousness of their violence and the mountainous piles of their filth to keep in the race at all."
- Paul Gallico

I guess someone has watched The Holy Mountain more than once...

And you and I...

So, lately I've been watching quite a few movies, due in large part to my recent acquisition of a Netflix account, and have found it quite enjoyable. I have found out that there are many very good movies out there, be they domestic or foreign, that most people don't know about. Pretty much all of the movies I've gotten lately have been really good, many have been put high on my list of favorite films. However, excluding my primary viewing companion (let's call him Sage), most people I know have not seen or even heard of most of these movies, and probably don't care to.
It's not that it is a matter of grave importance that my fellow peers lack the knowledge of If.... or Aguirre, the Wrath of God, as I am well aware that my interest in various activities differs greatly from many who surround me. And I am also not complaining or trying to convert wrongdoers toward my "righteous" path. In fact, it doesn't really bother me much at all that I share these interests with a relatively small number of like-minds. I am actually quite drawn to the esoteric knowledge and personal connection that come with the idea of the "cult movie". I would much rather discuss a film in a manner of critical intensity with one person than in a manner of apathy with a group. This is perhaps why I enjoy dancing around the fringes of the arcane to avoid stubbornly forcing my hand in the direction of the clearly uninterested individual.
This is probably why we enjoy movies in a different sense than others might, because we enjoy the adventure of searching for new movies nearly as much as the movie itself. I find it very exciting to find a movie that I've never heard of that looks interesting. It is even more exciting when my friends have not heard of it either, because then there is no one to disrupt the idea of the unknown. And the idea that a movie can be a completely new experience to those involved, without detractions of spoilers, and with the attractions of unknown directors and actors, can produce an experience that lasts far beyond the 90 minute running time...

Off the coast and I'm heading nowhere...

So yea, I think I am going to try and start posting here more often. I always say I am going to post things, but never get around to it. Probably because I don't feel that it's important enough, but it's not like anything that I post is actually "important". So, in conclusion, I think I will try and start posting more often.

So, this week has gone by pretty fast, especially in comparison to last last two weeks, which went by quite slowly due to "various reasons". However, the "various reasons" were quite interesting themselves, but I do not wish to divulge too much information, for "various reasons". I have also seen quite a few movies lately, most of which have been quite good. However, I haven't been doing much else other than that, so I think I need to start going out more. The only problem is that I haven't really been able to find many places that I would like to go out to, because most of the time I go out I wish I was back at my house. But anyway, I think I'm going to watch more movies in the immediate future and I will try to post more often on here...

One of these days I'll get an early night...

So yea, a couple of days ago I got a little upset because I realized that three of Camel's albums, Music Inspired by the Snow Goose, Moonmadness, and Rain Dances, were just re-released in remastered and expanded editions like a month ago. This annoyed me because I had just bought those albums not that long ago. I didn't really care about the remastered part, because the versions I have were remastered in like 2002 by a major label, so I would assume the sound is pretty similar. However, when looking upon the added bonus tracks, I was angered by the vast amount of quality extras I missed out on by a couple months. So yea, I'm not really trying to make a point against record companies or anything. Actually, I'm pretty much doing the opposite, because they are actually taking the time to make buying CDs more worthwhile by improving them. I'm just saying that my timing with Camel was a little off, so I might wait a little bit before I buy another one of their albums.

Culural Fascism...

"Jazz purists lost all credibility when they slagged this one off, caught as they were in tainted, even racist views of the past that made no allowances for jazz musicians to actually follow their time-honored tradition of mining the pop music of the day to extend the breadth and reach of jazz itself. Anybody who wants to believe that George Gershwin is somehow more important than George Porter Jr. is already lost in his own cultural fascism. " - Thom Jurek

That was part of a review I read for Idris Muhammad's album House of the Rising Sun that I personally thought was amazing. I really think that much of the quote accurately reflects the current view of jazz, and especially my view of jazz education. I mean, I can't look at a history of jazz book or Ken Burns' Jazz without thinking of "cultural fascism". I mean seriously, that documentary has like three episodes for the 1930s and one for the last forty years. And yes, I know, I am somewhat biased, but I still think that is ridiculous.

PS- I haven't actually heard anything from the album, so I can't really review it, but I have heard him drum on other things, and what I have heard is really good.

If I could do it all over again, I'd do it all over you...

So, I had a great day today. I experienced quite a few new things, and a few old ones that are always good. It also allowed me to make some new observations.

So my morning was pretty basic, get up, shower, get dressed, etc. But then it started to get interesting. I then went to my friend's house, and we decided to go to Santa Anita Race Track and watch the horse races. This was pretty exciting for me because I had never "really" been to the race track before. At first it was overwhelming, but luckily my friend knew what to do, and it was pretty easy to pick up. Then on the first race a very unfortunate thing happened, I won twenty-six dollars on a three dollar bet. Yea, I know it might seem like a good thing, but giving a beginning gambler confidence gives them a misleading view on the whole concept of gambling. It was ok though cause I was actually up four dollars at the end of the day. However, while I was there I made a startling revelation about the similarities between the race track and the stock market. I mean you are able to bet money all around the country and watch your investment on a wall of TVs. Yep, sounds like big business to me...

After that we went back to my friends house and watched TV for a little while, and I could tell it was our lucky day because the first two episodes of That 70s Show were on. This caused another revelation. I realized that the early seasons of That 70's Show are just as good as anything else that has ever been on TV. I know that I often write the show off when I think about my favorite show, but in reality there are few, if any, programs that I enjoy watching more. The early seasons are especially good. I mean me and my friend probably spent half of the two episode laughing hysterically, and most of the rest was filled with at least a healthy chuckle.

Another new adventure I ventured on today, was an "art party" or something like that. It was basically a bunch of small local artist displaying some of their work in one their houses, and filled it with a definite party vibe. I mean most of the art was not overly impressive, even though there were a few very good pieces, it was just a great idea. Yea, I know they probably do this everywhere, but me and my friends had never been to something like this. It was really quite amusing, and I think it's something that me and my friends would like to do again.

Next, we went back to my friends house and watched some more TV. This time we watched some Action League Now and a Chris Rock special. These were both filled with some spectacular moments that seemed fit to end such a night. So after Chris Rock I decided to head home. But then I thought that this night couldn't be over so soon.

So, I decided to just stop at home to pick up a can of Mountain Dew, and go for a little cruise. So after driving around for a little while like I usually do, I decided to mix things up and take a little spin on the freeway. So after a little while on the freeway I decided to get off, the freeway kind of defeats the purpose of cruising. So, now I figured that the night was over for sure, but I should have known better. While waiting at a red light on the off-ramp, I witnessed a car accident. Now, I have been in an accident, seen cars in accidents, but I had never seen one right in front of my eyes like this. This made me really nervous and I didn't know what I should do, and I had a green light. So I decided to make my turn and continue on. However, a couple blocks down my conscience got the best of me and I turned around to see what was going on. So, I passed by them twice, and I saw people standing outside the cars talking. So I realized that even if everything wasn't ok that there really wasn't much that I could do, because I didn't actually see who was at fault.

But nonetheless, this was a great day with an unexpected ending that I hope will lead to many new experiences...

What a Rush...

So yea, today was packed full of Rush. The weirdest thing though was that it wasn't really planned at all. First of all, I drove back home from Bakersfield with a soundtrack that was full of Rush, from 2112 and Moving Pictures. After I got back I decided to stop at Amoeba in Hollywood, and even though I didn't actually intend on buying any Rush albums, my state of mind was quickly altered and I suddenly felt compelled to purchase Hemispheres. Now, of course, my innocent mind couldn't conceive that I was going to experience any more Rush today. However, fate seemed to have a different idea when it was decided that we would go see a movie. On the way to the theatre I was awarded the much sought after position of shotgun in Corey's car, which along with navigation responsibilities, comes with music privileges. While looking through his iPod, I came across "Tom Sawyer" by Rush, and not thinking anything of it, I decided to play it. At the time all the Rush seemed irrelevant, it seemed like just a regular day. However, the movie we went to go see was I Love You, Man which features Rush in an extremely large role, so it kind of brought the whole day together. And you know, you really can't have too much Rush in one day. And it just goes to show that Canadian bands are just as good as British band at being better than American bands...

Boys love candy...

Dude, sometimes news programs try too hard to be entertaining. Earlier tonight my friend Corey and I were watching the news on FOX, because we figured we would pay attention to it, or at least take it seriously. But how can we take it seriously if the program is not meant to be taken seriously?

So right before they were going to a commercial break they said what was coming up and brought up some video and mentioned a car that almost hit an officer, I forgot if it was Highway Patrol, Sheriff, etc. But then right before they left they said,

"We'll tell you if he made it."

I was like, what the hell? Are you serious? I mean seriously, are you kidding me? And I know it wasn't me, because my friend agreed that it was ridiculous.

I mean, I know that he obviously made it, because there is no way that they would say that if he didn't. But I mean, why are they trying to turn the news into a drama?

This also reminded me of the interview that Jerry and I saw of Jim Cramer by Jon Stewart. Stewart was telling Cramer that entertainment should be second to what is actually going on. By the way, this is a great interview, and you should watch it if you haven't already.

I totally agreed with most of what Jon Stewart had to say, and I guess that maybe we just shouldn't take anything that we see on TV seriously...

A hunting we shall go...

So, how many Germanys does it take to comprise a legitimate art exhibit?

I guess two...

But that depends on your definition of Germany.

So yea, me and a couple of friends decided to take off the shackles of "My Name Is Earl" and venture out into the underground world of Cold War art exhibits in Los Angeles County.

Luckily our vast knowledge of suburban drug culture led us to a quaint little gallery, according to Corey it was called "LACMA"? Of course, I assume, he just made that name up to break the awkward silence, as it would be absurd to imagine that such an above par collection of minds would flock toward such a below par collection of letters. But not knowing is half the fun. I haven't quite figured out where to find the other half, but I have my theories.

The real adventure was getting there, cause in order to keep up with secrecy all the directions were written in palindromes, and used hidden landmarks instead of street names. By the way, the scenic route was not worth the extra ten minutes.

But seriously, the exhibit itself was rather amusing. It featured a nice mix of different styles and different media. I have some pictures, but I can't really put them up here for various reasons. The best piece had to be the elevator. It was clear! Like dude, what were they taking when they came up with that. I mean like what if it breaks down, you'll be stuck but you'll be able to see the outside world. I mean that would be trippy, like making a social statement or something. There were also two cool pieces on the bottom floor. I forgot who they were by, but they looked like giant ribbons/mazes and we kind of walked inside one of them. Oh yea, there were also some toddler floatation devices caught in a chain-link fence, but that could have just been the map of the museum.

So in conclusion, art exhibits and Los Angeles go together like peanut butter and jelly...

Waltz right into my life...

Ok, so last Thursday I went swing dancing. I had been to this place before and it is actually a really nice thing they have got going on. However, last Thursday I really noticed something that shocked me. Almost everybody is doing East coast swing and nobody is doing Lindy hop. Now this might not seem like a big deal to somebody who has never done it, but it confused me very much.

Why you may ask?

Well mainly because East coast is in 3/4 or 6/8 time (they are very similar, often the same thing) and Lindy is done in 4/4 time, and in all the times that I have gone there I have never heard them play a song that wasn't in 4/4. I can understand how some of the really good dancers can cross over time, but I have no idea how the others do it. Do they not pay attention to the music? Do they not understand time signature? Am I just really bad at East coast? Or maybe I'm just too stubborn with time because of my drumming. But whatever it is,

It don't mean a thing (If you aint got that swing)...
